World War 2 - Creative Writing
Primary Four have been working incredibly hard during literacy producing fabulous pieces of creative writing! The children have created wonderful letters to their fathers who were fighting on the front line, telling them about their experience of being evacuated away from city life due to the Belfast Blitz to the countryside in Newmills.
The children took their time, carefully constructing their story map, deciding their mode of transport, who went with them, where they went and what they did.
They spent time making various drafts of their work. When they were happy with their work, they wrote up their final draft. The children then sent a copy of their final draft letters to Mrs Jenkins’ class who very kindly marked their letters giving each child ‘two stars and a wish’.
The children were delighted to be using pens to write up their final copy which were stained using teabags to give them an old, worn effect.
The children all worked very hard! I am so proud of everyone and I am sure you can see why!
I hope you enjoy reading our letters!
Well done Primary 4!! ⭐️
