What an amazing day with so much to take in! Our day was organised into two parts - with Rita, our Viking expert, studying a huge array of replica artefacts and with Brian and Jemma in trench 2 of the excavation site at Drumreagh Otra, Newmills. It was so exciting to learn how to excavate and to discover remnants of our local history in the hope of piecing together a story of the mill. Today we discovered lots of materials from the buildings and hopefully found the wall of the mill homes!
